The Arnotts Biscuits Connection

Monica Sinclair daughter of Samuel Sinclair 1804-1863 and Eliza (Woods) who was born in County Galway Ireland in 1829. Following the death of Eliza, Samuel remarried and came to Australia. Later Monica came to Australia with her brother Robert on the vessel Sir Edward Parry arriving in Sydney on 17th February, 1848 where they both joined their father Samuel and 2nd wife Rebecca. Monica had met William Arnott during the voyage to Australia and they were married some time later. William Arnott and Monica started the first Arnotts bakery in 1848. Monica passed away in 1865.
